Education
The participants of the consortium combine interdisciplinary expertise and knowledge covering a wide range of topics in cancer genomics, which is essential for the training of the next generation of excellent scientists in this field.
Master students, PhD students and postdocs in the consortium receive their training in one of the research schools of the participating institutes:
• Research school Cancer, Stem cells & Developmental biology (CS&D). The school combines research groups from Hubrecht, UMCU and UU and offers a Master and a PhD program website
• PhD program Clinical and Translational Oncology (CTO) at UMCU and UU, which has an emphasis on clinically oriented PhD candidates website
• Oncology Graduate School Amsterdam (OOA), which combines cancer research groups from the NKI, AMC and the VU Medical Center (VUmc) website
• Medical-Genetics Centre South-West Netherlands (MedGen) at the LUMC and the Erasmus MC, which offers courses at the PhD and Postdoctoral level website
• Nijmegen Centre for Molecular Life Sciences research and graduate school (NCMLS), which offers Master, PhD and postdoctoral programs in Molecular Mechanisms of Disease website
These training programs offer a variety of courses, seminar series, PhD retreats and Master classes to their students and have proven strong track records by delivering many of the best and brightest young cancer researchers in the Netherlands.
Note: Students interested in applying for a Master, PhD or postdoc program within the CGC.nl consortium should apply directly to the scientist they wish to receive their training from. MASSterclass: Spectrometry & Cytometry
By Michiel Vermeulen and Yvonne Vercoulen Oncode Institute and CGC host a workshop about quantitative mass spectrometry-based proteomics and mass cytometry. What do you need to run a smooth experiment? Which kind of research questions can be answered? What are the costs? By the end of the workshop you will know what is needed to execute a succesful mass spectrometry or cytometry experiment. Please register here
